Where did the name come from?
The Sisterhood of the Comfy Socks came through friends brought together by several marriages-- two are sisters-in-law and best friends, another came into the family when she married one of the sis-in-law's son, which brought the bride's mother (me) into the picture, and eventually the bride's daughter came along, which makes two of us grandmothers-in-law, or something like that.
Our name came from a sweet gesture one of the friends did for the rest of us at Christmas one year. On each of our beds, she placed a pair of the softest, comfiest socks imaginable, and it made us feel so pampered and special at the time. From then on, we started bringing socks to our official Sisterhood get-togethers once or twice a year.
We're family, we're close friends. We share, encourage, inspire, challenge, support, and pray for each other. We listen, we laugh, we cry, we vent, we love, and we know we're not on this journey alone.
